Installation Guide
Follow these steps to secure your WordPress admin dashboard with facial recognition
Ensure the WP REST Api is active on your site.
Prerequisite
1. Download & Install
Install directly from WordPress dashboard or upload the plugin manually:
- Go to Plugins -> Add New
- Search for "FiD Facial recognition admin"
- Click "Install Now" then "Activate"
Licensing
2. Initial Setup
Configure your initial settings:
- Log into your admin dashboard
- Navigate to FID Access' Settings
- If you have a valid license - enter it in the license tab, save then activate
Enrollment
3. Enable Recognition
Set up facial recognition:
- In the users tab, select your username and click the add/enroll button next to it
- Pick a 4 char alphanumeric pin
- Follow the steps to enroll
Lockdown
4. Security Settings
Enhance your security:
- Have the other admins enroll by logging into wp-admin themselves
- Enable the login lockdown switch
- Log out of wp-admin
Verification
5. Testing
Verify your setup:
- You should see your new wp-login screen
- Ensure a working webcam and fill in your 4 character pin
- Look into your webcam and click verify
Go Go Go
6. Go Live
Ready to use:
- System is now fully configured
- Monitor login attempts using security tools like fail to ban
- Keep plugin updated
